We’re Grateful for Our Strong Community

Written by Jonathan Breeden

Nothing about life feels normal right now, and crises are very good at clarifying priorities. With all of the uncertainty in our world today, we want to take a minute to check in with our clients and community.

We hope that you are healthy, safe, and able to find some silver linings in this very difficult period.

At Breeden Law Office, we are grateful for our strong local community that has pulled together to help neighbors, support small businesses, and keep families afloat during hard times.

We are also grateful for the healthcare workers, first responders, and other essential workers who do not have the option to work from home. Many of our clients are on the front lines of this fight, and we appreciate your work to keep all of us safe and healthy. Beating this virus is a team effort, and we’re proud of North Carolina’s efforts.

For those of you who are current clients, or who would like to speak to a family law attorney about a legal matter, we are still working and available to help. Our staff is working from home, but thanks to their dedication and the wonders of modern technology, our practice is functioning much like it was before COVID-19 became an issue.

Here’s a summary of what you can expect from Breeden Law during this time:

  • We are open from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, and we’re able to respond quickly to your legal questions. You are always welcome to call our office at (919) 661-4970 or to email us at legal@breedenlaw.com. (A full list of contacts is available below.)
  • We are keeping a close eye on the changing court schedules in all of our counties. As things evolve, we’ll keep you updated about what those changes mean for court dates, filing dates, and other issues that may affect your legal matter. If you have any questions, please contact us at (919) 661-4970.
  • We are closed to physical office visits for the safety of our staff and our families. We are conducting most meetings and consultations via Zoom and over the phone.
  • While the North Carolina Courts are not hearing many cases right now they are still hearing emergency custody orders and domestic violence protective orders. We have been in Court several days since this pandemic started and are willing and able to help if you need to get into court immediately on these issues.
  • Regular court proceedings in North Carolina will presumably resume normal operations on June 1, 2020. You can read more about courts reopening here.
  • If you would like to contact anyone at our firm, here are the best ways to do so
